Screen shot 2013-05-16 at 5.37.52 PM Located in the western tropical side of the Pacific Ocean, just 110 miles off China’s Southeastern coast, you'll find Taiwan, a small island in between Japan and Philippines. Although Taiwan is not really known for surf, this beautiful island offers incredible waves, quality surf, amazing sights and empty line ups. Taiwan’s waves can be surprisingly consistent and good. Offering numerous surf spots with warm ocean water, the island is affordable and easy to reach, has quiet beaches, tasty food and friendly locals. Currently in West Pac typhoon season, which runs through October, is considered the best window for some solid Taiwanese surf. Primetime within these months would be  September to October. Australian pro surfers Andrew Mooney, Cory Ziems and Perth Standlick took a trip in 2011. Take a look:
